Oregon Academy Legislative Day

We would like to invite you to celebrate National Nutrition Month® and RD Day with us at the state capitol on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 8am to 1pm. We will be visiting legislators and promoting Oregon Academy members as the food and nutrition experts. During our last Legislative Day, we had over 50 members attend from all over the state of Oregon!

We will be establishing relationships with our representatives so when a bill crosses their desk they think to call us and ask for our opinion because we are the experts in nutrition! In past years, Oregon Academy members have had direct input on school nutrition standards, farm to school bills, and farmer's market regulations.

10-hour visitor meters are located on Court Street. They require (approximately $1.50/per hour.) Make sure to bring lots of quarters for parking as plastic will do you no good. Consider carpooling!

There is a café in the basement of the capitol. Or consider bringing a sack lunch as there are nice cubbies to eat in.
