The Portland Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics board is excited to announce our first CPE event of the year. We are partnering again with OHSU's Graduate Programs in Human Nutrition to bring Steve Strauss, PhD to Portland to speak on genetically modified organisms.

Presentation: "GMO Labeling: Science, Safety, and Ethics"

Location: Vey Auditorium, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital
Cost: Free to PAND members and OHSU students and staff
$10 for everyone else

Brief Bio: Steve Strauss is a Distinguished Professor at Oregon State University who has been engaged in public outreach about GMO crops for more than a decade, and conducts research on biological safety of GMO trees. He will explain what GMOs are, their extent of use and trajectory in the USA and the world, how they are tested for safety, and the pros and cons of labeling GMOs in Oregon as proposed in ballot measure 92.
